I do stay at Hiltons quite often for the experience and feedback I can give to the AAB not just the discount. When I worked at a hotel front desk I always gave guests a greeting even when I didn’t feel like it and gave them the basic information that all guests need to know. Front desk agents like this woman are the reason Hilton reservationists are afraid to call the hotel for assistance, and why customers complain because if you look a certain way or are a certain complexion you are treated differently even by someone who is your same race. I realize I am a team member so maybe she assumed I was just some ignorant person getting a cheap room, but I actually work for HRCC and I also sit on the Agent Advisory Board for Hilton. Shortly after my husband walked in after parking she did not say hello to him or anything. I just assumed she was tired or something until a white couple rushed in shortly after me she smiled, greeted them, gave them waters, let them know breakfast times, restaurant hours and pointed them to the elevators. After they left still no conversation, did not offer me water, did not let me know breakfast times, checkout nothing. She took the cards, and continued talking to coworkers. I let her know that I just needed to update my card and show her my ID because I’m a team member. I walked in a shorter black lady with yellow framed glasses was standing at the desk talking to two Hispanic coworkers. I knew I would be arriving late and stopped by the front desk to update my card. I checked in from my Hilton Honors app, and realized I had the wrong card on file.
